Gas heaters and heating units for greenhouses

Natural gas-fired heaters are the most popular option for industrial heaters domestically, as natural gas is an affordable and efficient fuel for heating greenhouses. All natural gas heaters can also be purchased in a propane version.

Gas-fired Holland heaters are divided into direct and indirect combustion variants:

The direct option is the HHB heater, which exhausts the flue gases along with the heated air into the interior of the greenhouse. This is the most economically viable Holland heater and is suitable where we do not mind elevated levels of CO₂ in the air. The formation of CO₂ in the use of the HHB unit can be reduced by connecting a suction unit. The suction unit is fixed to the grille at the back of the burner (where it draws in air) and exits out of the greenhouse. This ensures that some of the air is brought into the heater from outside as fresh air. This eliminates environmental fouling to some extent. A co₂ exhaust fan

can also be chosen as an option for exhausting the flue gases from the building.

The direct varint includes LCSA heaters and LTU heaters. These heaters are suitable in conditions where no CO₂ must be generated. This is because these units have a closed gas combustion chamber and the heated air contains no combustion gases. The flue gas exhaust system can be vented either vertically through a chimney or horizontally through a wall.
